We tried to make a run for it back to town between tornado warnings, but ended back at the vineyard. All three roads out are flooded. Cypress Creek was at 3 feet over the road. 301 to JC was also hazardous. Power is out here, too! It looks like we are forced to take the afternoon off!😜 ... See MoreSee Less

Water is still flooding the single-lane bridge on Hamilton Pool road, so travelers driving from Austin and Dripping Springs will not be able to pass. A boat still won't help you cross today, either!!!! However, the roads from Johnson City and Marble Falls (281 to 962 E) leading east to the winery are clear. We will be open until 4:00 today ... We've had 5.5 inches of rain here at the vineyard. The bridge across our "dry" creek suffered and will need some repair, but it is still safe drive over. Some fences are down, but the cows are all accounted for. The tank in the back is so full, water is flowing into the new block of vines. The Pedernales River bridge is closed for the rest of the day. Coming from 281, Cypress Creek was about an inch over the road. A few other places were flowing over the road, but going down steadily.

We are open, but you'll have to come in from the west. And that's what Hillary and Carly did!!!! These lovely ladies are visiting from Minnesota and driving around the flooded Hill Country in a Toyota Yaris!!! They were determined to wine taste today. It was a pleasure to host you, Hillary and Carly! Safe travels....

Westcave Cellars Reviews

I am from Washington state and came to Austin, Tx to visit my sister. She brought me to WestCave and I was impressed! What a wonderful venue to relax on a Sunday afternoon with fabulous wine, excellent service and beautiful views. I will be here the next time I come for a visit! - Colleen R.

Super friendly service, generally sweeter wines but still a nice stop if you are out at Hamilton Pool. Part of the "Dripping Tour"... With Solaro and Bell Springs makes a great weekend afternoon. The Shiraz was the best of the sampling Other estate wines are available, so ask if your favorites aren't in the tasting. - Justin C.

Just visited yesterday and had a blast! We are visiting Austin from NYC and found these folks on a vineyard website- drove the 30 mins out of the city to them. Wine tasting was delicious and fun and followed by live music and brisket BBQ outside! They were amazingly friendly and gave us an informal tour of their cellar and wine making process. So cool! And really so friendly. Definitely recommend. Near the Hamilton Pool and Krause Springs so you can make a day trip out of it - Joseph H.
